Robert Newman’s History of Oil

July 19, 2006

This is a must-see 45 minute video titled “History of Oil”. English writer, musician and comedian Robert Newman wrote, produced and stars in this hilarious, informative and terrifying Vaudeville-style examination of the impact of oil on humanity in the 20th and 21st centuries, made possible by bicycle-powered electricity. This is the type of programming that should be on prime time television, instead of the ever more inane tripe that dominates our culture. Newman’s most timely lesson for us in 2006: “The party’s over.”
